General distribution: Swiss Alps (southern Ticino); Mediterranean? New record for Italy.

Habitat preferences: silvicolous; xerophilous.

Remarks: Body size 320 x 180 µm. The smaller body, the deep U-shaped rostral incision and the long, dense cilia on the bothridial seta distinguish this species clearly from C. minutissimus .
