Tectocepheus sarekensis (Trägårdh, 1910)

Tectocepheus velatus sarekensis Weigmann 2006, p. 255, fig. 137d-f.

Tectocepheus sarekensis Laumann et al. 2007, p..111, figs 1 c1-c4,

Parco Naturale delle Alpi Marittime: AB, FRA, FAG, PRATO, AND-I numerous to very numerous, PAL sparse.

General distribution: Northern, southern Italy; Italian, Swiss, Austrian Alps; semicosmopolitan.

Habitat preferences: euryoecious.

Remark: The taxonomic rank of the parthenogenetic Tectocepheus species is debatable. Weigmann (2006), Subías (2004) and other authors list T. sarekensis as subspecies of T. velatus (Michael, 1880); Laumann et al. (2007) indicate a speciation by using molecular phylogeny and consider T. sarekensis a distinct species, which we follow here.
