Eueremaeus oblongus (C.L. Koch, 1835)

General distribution: Northern, southern Italy; Italian, Swiss, Austrian Alps; Holarctic, Oriental.

Habitat preferences: silvicolous; xerophilous.

Remarks: A morphological differentiation between E. oblongus and E. valkanovi (Kunst, 1957) is given by Weigmann (2006), but in the present material the different characters are not always clearly distinguishable. The specimens show a high variability and a mosaic pattern of characters in-between the species. A synonymy of E. valkanovi is suspected by Subías (2004, electronic update 2021) and Seniczak et al. (2014).
