FEMALE. (Specimens measured. South Africa: Holotype and 2 non-type specimens) Dorsum. Dorsal shield 308(304–315) [305] long and 172(159–181) [159] wide, ornamented with roundish elements. Setae j1 19(18–20) [18], j3 24(22–26) [22], j4 23(22–25) [22], j5 24(23–25) [24], j6 45(43–47) [45], J2 55(53–57) [57], J5 9(8–9) [8], z2 17(16–18) [16], z3 27(26–29) [26], z4 27(26–27) [26], z5 23(21– 25) [21], z6 37(34–39) [37], Z4 55(54–57) [57], Z5 52(50–54) [51], s4 31 (30–32) [32], s6 31 (30–32) [31], S2 43 (41–45) [45], S4 42 (41–43) [43], S5 36 (34–37) [34], r3 27(26–28) [26]; R1 30(28–33) [29]. Setae thornlike, inserted on tubercles; all smooth, except Z4 and Z5, serrate. Seta R1 inserted on dorsal shield in the holotype and in one non-type specimen; in another non-type specimen, R1 of one side is inserted on membrane.
Venter. Sternal shield indistinct; distances between ST1-ST3 54 [54], ST2-ST2 47 (44–48) [48]. Genital shield smooth; distance between ST5-ST5 45(43–48) [43]. Ventrianal shield smooth, vase-shaped, anterior margin straight, 101(97–104) [97] long, 44(41–47) [43] wide at level of ZV2 and 57(51–63) [51] wide at level of anus; setae JV2 and JV3 present; round preanal pores mesad of and slightly posterior to JV2. Caudoventral setae smooth and sharp-tipped.
Chelicera. Movable digit 20(19–22) [19] long, with apparently 1 tooth; fixed digit 19(18–20) [19] long, with 3 teeth.
Spermatheca. Calyx asymmetrical, bulged towards atrium, then constricted and flaring near vesicle, 19(17–20) [20] long; atrium incorporated in major duct, only distinguishable as lips.
Legs. Macrosetae absent. Chaetotaxy: genu II: 2-2/1, 2/0-1; genu III: 1-2/1, 2/0-1.
Specimens examined. South Africa: holotype female from Grewia kwebensis, Nwanedzi, Kruger National Park, Limpopo Province, 27-IX-1963, M.K.P. Smith Meyer; one female from unidentified tree, Hectorspruit, Mpumalanga Province, 1970, M.K.P. Smith Meyer; one female from Diospyros mespiliformis, Komati River, Mpumalanga Province, 05-II-1985, E.A. Ueckermann; all deposited at NCA-PPRI. World distribution. South Africa
