Remarks. Cooman (1948) proposed Platylomalus as a replacement name for Paromalus Lewis, 1907, preoccupied by Paromalus Erichson, 1834 . Therefore the two names have the same type species, Hister complantus Panzer.

About 60 species have been described worldwide (Mazur 1997), mainly inform the Old World tropics. In China, five species had been recorded from Taiwan (Bickhardt 1912; Lewis 1915) and one from Hainan (Vienna, 1983) before this study. Here, one new species is described from Hainan province and two species are recorded in China for the first time.
