Yaothrips pediculae (Han) comb.n.

Taeniothrips pediculae Han, 1988: 179 .

Yaothrips shii Mirab-balou, Wei, Lu & Chen, 2011: 47. Syn.n.

Han described pediculae from two females collected in Mainling County, Tibet, and one of these females has been studied on loan from BMNH, London (Mound et al. 2012). Similarly, shii was described from four females collected at Lhasa City, Tibet, but these cannot be distinguished from pediculae . The genus Yaothrips is not related to Taeniothrips, because of the presence of ocellar setae pair I, and the absence of a comb of microtrichia on the posterior margin of tergite VIII (Mound et al. 2012).
