Type material. Male holotype from Parque Nacional La Campana, Palma de Ocoa, 770m, -32.96122°, -71.05944°, Quillota, Region V, Chile, Feb. 18, 2005, M. Ramírez & F. Labarque, deposited in MHNS PBI_ OON 25609 . Paratypes: Cordillera, Reserva Nacional de Rio Clarillo, Region Metropolitana de Santiago, Chile, 940m, -33.73333°, -70.46666°, Nov. 26, 1993, Platnick, Catley, Ramírez & Allen, 2♀ (AMNH PBI _ OON 25621).

Etymology. The specific name is a Spanish word and means hairy, referring to the strong setae over the entire body of this species. It is to be treated as a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. This species can be recognized by the unusual strong setae covering the entire body (Figs 89A ̅F, 91A̅F).

Description. Male (MACN PBI _OON 25609). Total length 1.62. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace orangebrown, ovoid in dorsal view, pars cephalica slightly elevated in lateral view, surface of elevated portion of pars cephalica granulate, sides granulate; lateral margin without denticles; non-marginal pars cephalica setae very stout; non-marginal pars thoracica setae very stout; marginal setae very stout. Clypeus curved downwards in front view, high, ALE separated from edge of carapace by their radius or more, around ALE diameter; setae very stout. Eyes all subequal; ALE separated by more than their diameter, PLE-PME separated by less than PME radius. Sternum orange-brown, fused to carapace, furrow wrinkled, surface finely punctuate, microsculpture covering entire surface, anterior margin with continuous transverse groove, posterior margin not extending posteriorly of coxae IV; setae originating from surface. Mouthparts: Chelicerae, endites and labium orange-brown. Chelicerae anterior face unmodified; retromargin without teeth; fangs without tooth-like projections; paturon inner margin with brush, laminate groove absent. Labium anterior margin indented at middle. Endites: anteromedian part forming a groove between serrula and the apical portion. ABDOMEN: rounded posteriorly; dorsum soft portions pale white. Pedicel scuto-pedicel region with paired curved scutal ridges, plumose setae absent. Dorsal scutum orange-brown, middle surface punctate, sides punctate, tegument slightly rugose between punctations. Epigastric scutum: anterior spiracles secondary openings at level of epigastric furrow under a fold, inconspicuous. Postepigastric scutum orange-brown, long, semicircular, without posteriorly directed lateral apodemes. Spinneret scutum large. LEGS: orange-brown. GENITALIA: Epigastric region with sperm pore oval, situated at level of anterior spiracles, rebordered. Palp proxi- mal segments orange-brown Conductor distal tip dorso-ventrally flattened, with subdistal prolateral angular process and very narrow tip; embolar tip a short translucent tube; embolar distal process lamellar; embolar prolateral process narrow bearing a dorsal translucent area (Figs 89G ̅H, 90A̅D).

Female (AMNH PBI _OON 25621). Total length 2.19. As in male except as noted. CEPHALOTHORAX: Mouthparts: paturon inner margin with short inter-digitating setae. GENITALIA: internal genitalia general shape subquadrate, lateral apodemes broad and triangular, domed anterior portion, receptaculum rounded, receptaculum cavity expanded posteriorly into a lip-liker border (Fig. 91H).

Distribution. This species has only been found in Chile.
