Comment: Several dozen specimens (not concretely cited here) of this largely distributed species have been recently studied from Provinces East Azarbaijan, Gilan, Fars, Golestan, Hormozgan, Kerman, Sistan va Baluchestan, Razavi Khorasan, Qazvin, North Khorasan, West Azarbaijan, etc. It is not possible to clearly assign some of these specimens to appropriate subspecies. Validity of ssp. persicus must be checked but very probably it is only a form of the nominotypical subspecies, without taxonomic value.

Samin et al. (2011) cited S. terricola pacificus Bates, 1873 from Bandar-Torkman (Prov. of Golestan). This subspecies is known only from SE Asia and the occurrence in Iran is not expectable so that this citation very probably belongs to S. terricola terricola Bonelli, 1813 or S. terricola persicus Chaudoir, 1842 .
