Holotype:— PERU. Huánuco: Leoncio Prado, Estación Experimental Agropecuario, Rupa-rupa, alt. 680 m, 11 Dec 1962, A. Gutiérrez 95 (F (mounted on two herbarium sheets) [V0092445F image!, V0092446F image!]; isotypes: DUKE [No. 221390 image!], NY [barcode 00297953 image!], US [barcode 00111783 image!], WIS [barcode 00000912MAD image!, barcode v0255155WIS image!]) .

Notes — Williams (1967) indicated the gathering Gutiérrez 95 from the herbarium F as the holotype of A. capitatum . Based on this information and the materials analyzed, we consider that the two specimens with this information in F (F barcodes V0092445F and V0092446F) belong to a single specimen mounted on two sheets since one was labeled as “sheet 1 of 2” (F barcode V0092445F) and the other as “sheet 2 of 2” (F barcode V0092446F) (ICN article 8.3, Ex. 7; Turland et al. 2018). Lastly, other than what was suggested by Williams (1967), we did not find an isotype of A. capitatum in the herbarium G (F. Stauffer, personal information).
