Notes —Between the two collections presented in the protologue of A. rauwolfioides, Markgraf (1935b) indicated the gathering Steinbach 8129 as “Original der Art.” but did not cite in which herbarium the type would be deposited. Therefore, since we found several sheets from this collection, we selected a specimen with flowers and follicles as the lectotype of A. rauwolfioides (NY barcode 00023394). Also, between the two collections mentioned in the protologue of A. acreanum, Markgraf (1940) cited the gathering Ule 9701 as “Original der Art.” without indicating the herbarium. Thus, we elected the best-preserved specimen from this collection as the lectotype of A. acreanum (K barcode K000587679).

Kuhlmann (1940) indicated the gatherings from the herbarium RB Ducke s.n. (RB No. 22438) and Ducke s.n. (RB No. 24577) for A. laxiflorum and A. subumbellatum, respectively. Based on this information and the materials analyzed, we consider that the two sheets of A. laxiflorum in RB with this information (RB barcodes 00535048 and 00567816) belong to a single specimen mounted on two sheets since both were marked as “ holotype ”, received the same voucher number, and are physically kept together (ICN article 8.3, Ex. 9; Turland et al. 2018). In the same way, we understand that the two specimens of A. subumbellatum in RB (RB barcodes 00535085 and 00536932) belong to a single specimen mounted on two sheets since they possess a single original label in common, received the same voucher number, and are physically kept together (ICN article 8.3, Ex. 9; Turland et al. 2018).
