Type species — Trichonius quadrivittatus Bates, 1864 (subsequent designation, Thomson, 1864: 323).

Diagnosis. Lateral tubercle of prothorax in the posterior third; pronotum without tubercles; elytra without centrobasal crest or elytral carina; metatarsomere I as long as next two together; female with the apex of last sternite rounded. Number of species currently included: 9.
