Diagnosis. Pleurotergites without lateral keels (Figs 1 and 5) and with numerous metazonal warts (Figs 1–8). Macrochaetae very short and bacilliform (Fig. 6). Syncoxite of anterior gonopods with impressive rounded medial lobe (Figs 12 and 16). Posterior gonopods with well-developed, shield-like uniramous lateral coxal processes and with uniramous medial sternal process (Fig. 18).

Type species: Egonpretneria brachychaeta Strasser, 1966, by original designation.
