Diagnosis. Pleurotergites with lateral keels and without metazonal warts; macrochaetae long and trichoid (Figs 19, 20, 30–32, 42–44). Posterior gonopods with well-developed shield-like uniramous lateral processes and with uni-, bi-, or triramous medial sternal process (Figs 29, 40, and 51).

Type species: Haasia troglodytes (Latzel, 1884) (syns. Craspedosoma (Scotherpes) troglodytes Latzel, 1884; Acherosoma troglodytes Verhoeff, 1929; Acherosoma circoniense Strasser, 1935; A. verhoeffi Manfredi, 1935), by subsequent designation.
