Gounelle (1911), in the description of Euryptera leonina, mentioned a series of three specimens, but did not select a holotype. Therefore, we provide the following lectotype designations.

Geographical distribution. Brazil (Mato Grosso, Goiás, São Paulo).

Specimens examined. Lectotype. male, BRAZIL, Goyaz: Jatahy [Goiás: Jataí], with a white label “ Euryptera leonina,?, Gounelle” and a green label “ leonina Goun. ” (MNHN). Paralectotypes. 1 male, BRA- ZIL, Goyaz: Jatahy [Goiás: Jataí], XII.1897 – I.1898 (Pujol leg.) (MNRJ), 1 female, same data but (MNHN). Other specimen. 1 female, BRAZIL, São Paulo: Araçatuba, XII.1951 (Dirings leg.) (MZSP).
