Lycochoriolaus Linsley & Chemsak, 1976

Lycochoriolaus Linsley & Chemsak, 1976: 34; Monné, 2006: 125 (cat.). Type species: Leptura lateralis Olivier, 1795 (original designation).

Lycochoriolaus Linsley & Chemsak, 1976 was proposed for several species from Euryptera and Choriolaus Bates, 1885, by the presence of antennomeres enlarged or subserrate, or flattened if tapering, and the intercoxal process of the mesosternum recessed and narrow. Linsley & Chemsak (1976) transferred seven species from the United States, Mexico and Central America to the genus Lycochoriolaus: L. aurifer (Linsley, 1970), L. costulatus (Bates, 1885), L. lateralis (Olivier, 1795), L. mimulus (Bates, 1885), L. sericeus (Bates, 1885), L. similis (Linsley, 1970) and L. xantho (Bates, 1885), and four species from South America to the genus: L. angustatus (Melzer, 1935), L. angustisternis (Gounelle, 1911), L. lyciformis (Pascoe, 1866) and L. rotundipennis (Fuchs, 1956) . Here we transferred E. ater (Gounelle, 1911) to Lycochoriolaus, and synonymized E. rotundipennis Fuchs, 1956 with L. angustatus (Melzer, 1935) .
