Strigamia tripora (Chamberlin, 1941) *
References for morphology: Chamberlin 1941.
Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of Korynia, it was almost ignored subsequently. It is assigned here to Strigamia for the first time (new combination), because it shares all major diagnostic features of Strigamia . However, it could be a junior synonym of S. kerrana, because the original descriptions of both species are fully consistent, the difference in the number of pairs of legs (39 in a female S. tripora, 45 in a female S. kerrana) being possibly due to interindividual variation, and the difference in the number of coxal pores (3 on each side in a 15 mm long S. tripora, 4 in a 20 mm long S. kerrana) being possibly due to changes with growth or individual variation.
Distribution: known from a single locality in the Sierra Nevada, California.
