Material examined. JAPAN: Honshu, Toyama Prefecture, Toga-Mura, sweeping, holotype male, 11.ix.1990, M. Sasa (No. 185: 89). CHINA: Hunan Province, Yanling County, Taoyuandong (113°56΄–114°05΄ E, 26°25΄– 26°35΄N), 900 m a.s.l., sweeping, 1 male (BDN No. 25565), 17.vii.2004, Chuncai Yan.
Diagnostic characters. The species differs from other East Asian members of the genus by having bare eyes, antenna with 9 flagellomeres, AR 0.27–0.30, superior volsella anteriomedially separate, and connect with inferior volsella. Inferior volsella undeveloped and adpressed to inner margin of the gonocoxite.
Emended description. Total length 1.10 mm in place of 0.98 mm in the original description. Other characters are consistent with the original descriptions but some additional characters may be added: Tentorium 100 µm long, 15 µm wide. Wing length / length of profemur: 3.2. Palpomeres length (in µm): -; 20; 35; 50; 100.palpomeres 2 and 3 ellipsoid, 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender; palpomere 5/ 3: 2.9. Gonocoxite 80 µm long with 2 long setae apically. Gonostylus 33 µm long. Inferior volsella not developed. Transverse sternapodeme narrow, 25 µm long; phallapodeme slightly curved, 38 µm long. HR 2.5, HV 3.4.
Distribution. Japan and China (Hunan Province).
