Records from India. ANDHRA PRADESH: Visakhapatnam (reported as Rhombognathus papuensis Bartsch 1989), among rocky algae— Chatterjee (1995c). TAMIL NADU: Kanya Kumari (=Cape Comorin) (reported as R. papuensis), among rocky algae— Chatterjee (1995c). KERALA: Kovalam (reported as R. papuensis), among rocky algae— Chatterjee (1995c; 1996b).

Remarks. Although this Rhombognathus species is closely related to R. papuensis, there are some differences in need to be studied in detail to determine its exact identity. Chatterjee (1996b) reported ciliate infestation on this species (cited as R. papuensis) from Kovalam beach, Kerala.
