Quedius (Raphirus) orientalis KORGE, 1971 (Figs 15-17, 25, Map 1)

Quedius (Sauridus) orientalis KORGE, 1971b: 18 f.

T y p e m a t e r i a l e x a m i n e d: Holotype ♂ [dissected prior to present study]: " Iran: Kermanshahan, Heinz leg. / Songhor, ca. 1800 m, 7.VIII.1969 / ♂ - Holotypus Quedius (Sauridus) orientalis Korge " (MNB). Paratypes: 2♀♀: same data as holotype (MNB).

C o m m e n t: The original description is based on a male holotype and two female paratypes from "Songhor, ca. 1800 m, Kermanshahan (Iran)" (KORGE 1971b). In external (Fig. 25) and the male sexual characters (Figs 15-17) similar to Q. hermonensis, Q. orientalis is characterized particularly by the shape of the median lobe of the aedeagus, which has the apex very acute in ventral view. The species is currently known only from Iran (Map 1).
