Psilochlorops paganelliae sp. n.

Diagnosis. Frontal triangle pale brown, margins at most gently curved, reaching anterior margin of frons,, interfrontals outside frontal triangle; gena and postgena about 1/3 eye height; head broader than long in dorsal view; post–pronotum with one–two bristles; long axis of eye diagonal; scutum less than twice as long as broad, with five dark brown stripes; katepisternum with ventral half dark brown, with some other thin dark markings on anepisternum, anepimeron.
Material examined. Holotype. 3, Brazil, State of Santa Catarina, Urubici, 05.xii.2004 - 08.ii.2005, Bizzo and Hugo leg. Paratypes. 3 Ƥ, same data as holotype, and 1 Ƥ with same locality and 18.viii-05.xii.2005, Pinho and Bizzo leg (MZUSP).
Description. Total length, 6.3 mm. Wing length, 4.9 mm.
Male. Head (Figs. 4, 10). Yellow, slightly wider than thorax, broader than long in dorsal view, higher than wide in lateral view; frontal triangle pale brown, margins at most gently curved, reaching anterior margin of frons; occiput dark, bare; gena and postgena with same width, about 0.33 eye height; eye rounded, long axis diagonal; clypeus yellow; labella yellow; palpus yellow. First flagellomere dark yellow, with brownish areas on distal margin; arista light brown. One row of interfrontals external to frontal triangle; postocellars convergent; inner and outer verticals well–developed; one row of setulae at lower margin of gena, without a distinct vibrissa. Thorax (Figs. 16, 25). Scutum almost twice as long as broad, mainly yellowish, with five dark brown stripes, with dark pilosity; scutellum yellow. Pleura yellowish, post–pronotum with a small orange marking, with two bristles. Brownish, elongated markings on anepisternum and notopleura, a dark brown marking on ventral margin of katepisternum. Halter whith yellow stem, pale yellow knob. Legs dark yellow, light brownish on mid and hind femora and tibiae, tibial organ pale yellow. Wing. Hyaline. Costal sections one to four: 19-19-8-3. R2+3 slightly concave; R4+5 straight; R4+5 and M1+2 rather divergent; M1+2 straight; r-m and dm-cu parallel, distant each other 2.0 as long as dm-cu. Abdomen (Fig. 25). Tergites light brown, with distal margin yellowish, sternites light yellow. Terminalia. Hypandrium with triangular apical extensions (Fig. 26). Epandrium without ventral projections; mesolobus rectangular, weakly sclerotized; surstylus short, partially fused to epandrium (Fig. 27).
Female. As male.
Comments. This species is similar to P. flavisoma, but can be rather easily differentiated by the dark brown ventral mark on the katepisternum, and shape of the epandrium, without the long ventral projections distally.
