1. Neoscapteriscus abbreviatus (Scudder, 1869) Holotype ♂ (Fig.10)

Label data: Scapt. abbreviatus Scudd. Pernambuco. Fletcher; abbreviatus Scudd; Type 761 (on red). Conservation status: Poor condition. Left antenna is broken and left part of pronotum(in lateral and frontal of views) is broken; the tegmina and wings (in dorsal view) are ripped and with holes. Specimen locality: Brazil, Pernambuco. Additional notes: Neoscapteriscus abbreviatus (Scudder, 1869) new combination of Scapteriscus abbreviatus Scudd. Mentions of the specimen in literature: Scudder (1869).

2. Neoscapteriscus borellii (Giglio-Tos, 1894) Holotype of Scapteriscus acletus Rehn & Hebard 1916 ♂ (Fig.11) Label data: Scapteriscus acletus R4H H406 Type (on red); Hebardville, GA. V, 15, 1915. (H). Conservation status: Poor condition. Left hind leg glued on card and a bigger hole in the pleura region of hind coxa (in lateral view). Specimen locality: United States of America, Hebardville, Ware County, Georgia. Additional notes: Junior synonmy: Scapteriscus acletus Rehn & Hebard, 1916 . Label data: tenuis Scudder; Scapt. tenuis Scudder, Puty, Piauhy. Thayer Exp. O.H. St. John; Type 763 (on red). Conservation status: Poor condition. Specimen glued onto the pin; the tegmina and wings (in dorsal view) are ripped; mesonotum and abdomen damaged. Specimen locality: Brazil, Rio Poti, Northeast Brazil, Estado do Piauí. Antenna broken; left middle leg and both hind legs missing; remnants of fungi on the specimen. Specimen locality: Switzerland, Neuchâtel, probably introduced from Central America as mentioned in original description Scudder (1869).
