Endeavouria septemlineata (Hyman, 1939a)

Figs. 13, 14, 26.

External diagnosis (Hyman 1939a). Dorsum with multiple stripes, seven dark (including the median one) and six light. The dark parts of the dorsal surface are grayish or brownish black, while the light stripes are grayish brown. The ventral surface is pale with an inconspicuous mottling of darkish pigment. The eyes do not contour the anterior tip and continue in a single row laterally to the hind end.

The absence of a head plate differentiates it from both species of Bipalium . The large number of eyes differs much from Diporodemus yucatani, Rhynchodemus sylvaticus and both species of Dolichoplana . It differs from Caenoplana coerulea in that it lacks any blueish tinge dorsally and ventrally, and that the median stripe is dark. Finally, it differs from Parakontikia ventrolineata in the larger number of dark dorsal stripes (7 versus 3), and in the absence of paired ventral stripes.
