Comments. The specimens were collected in north and western Tunisia in different habitat types, from lowland to high altitudes, in freshwater with muddy bottoms and rich in aquatic vegetation. It was first recorded from Tunisia by Ferrari (1884).
Distribution. It occurs in Palearctic region (Polhemus 1995; Carapezza 1997; Fent et al. 2011).
