DISTRIBUTION: Africa, south of the Sahara to Bioko; Angola, Botswana and Natal (South Africa).

COMMENT: May be conspecific with tigrina; see Coetzee, 1977, Part 8:22; Schlawe, 1980, Faun. Abh. Staat. Mus. J. Tierk., Dresden, 7(15): 147— 161; Pringle, 1977, Ann. Natal Mus., 23(1): 93-115; but also see Ansell, 1978:39. Includes pardina, amer (sensu Schwartz, 1930, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 19:275-286), poensis, deorum, genettoides, rubiginosa, suahelica, fieldiana, aequatorialis, stuhlmanni, and bini (not a synonym of servalina); see Schlawe, 1980, Faun. Abh. Staat. Mus. J.
