Copris aspericollis Gillet (Fig. 5)

This species was known only from Guatemala and is recorded here for the first time from El Salvador, where the vegetation type was a mix of pine and Cupressus . In Guatemala this species is distributed in the mountainous areas of the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes, and the Meseta Central between 1500 to 2800 m, in association with pine­oak forests.
