Basonym: Lactobacillus equi Morotomi et al. 2002, 214 VP Strains of this species are non-motile rods and some of them contain filamentous cells [219]. The genome size of the type strain is 2.30 Mbp. Themol% G+C content of DNA is 39.0.

Isolated from faeces of horses.
