Cells are non-motile long rods, usually singly, in pairs or in short chains. Colonies are circular with a convex elevation and an entire margin. They grow at 37 °C, pH 3.9 and with 6 % NaCl [198]. Thegenome size of the type strainis 3.28 Mbp. The mol% G+C content of DNA is 45.0.
Isolated from cocoa bean heap fermentation, fermented grapes, andfermented cereals.
