Syringophilopsis icteri Bochkov & Galloway, 2001

Syringophilopsis icteri Bochkov & Galloway, 2001: 2019, figs. 5 and 6.

This species was described from the Northern Oriole, Icterus galbula (Linnaeus) (Icteridae) from Canada (Bochkov & Galloway 2001), and to present time there have been no other records since the original description. Below, we present data on this species collected from a new host species and new locality (U.S. A).

Material examined. 2 females, 11 males and 4 nymphs from quill of the Bullock’s Oriole, Icterus bullocki (Swainson) (Icteridae); United States, California, Riverside Co., 6 April 2007, coll. G. Spicer (GSS#2118). All material is deposited in the MNHW except 1 female and 3 males in the AMU (AMU–SYR. 304).
