Remarks. Our specimens represent the first record for Indonesia. This is one of the oldest nominal species of Chaunax, being the fourth described. Ho & Last (2013) confirmed it to be a valid species and the senior species in the C. abei -species group. A redescription of this species is being prepared by the first author.
