Biology. Devoto & Medan (2006) recorded this species visiting the flowers of Berberis empetrifolia Lam. and Discaria chacaye (G. Don.) Tortosa, whereas T. porteri also has been recorded feed on flowers of Trevoa quinquenervia Gillies & Hook in central Chile (D. Medan, unpublished data) and Alstroemeria revoluta Ruiz & Pav. in foothills of the Región de Ñuble (R.M. Barahona-Segovia unpublished data).
