Aphalara maculipennis Löw, 1886
Distribution. India: Jammu and Kashmir (Burckhardt & Lauterer 1997), Uttarakhand (Heslop-Harrison 1946, as A. calthae; Mathur 1975).
Host plant. Persicaria hydropiper (Polygonaceae) .
Comments. According to Mathur (1975: 31, comment by F. Ossiannilsson) and (Burckhardt & Lauterer 1997: 291) the Indian populations identified as Aphalara maculipennis may not be conspecific with European A. maculipennis . We examined one female from Kashmir (BMNH) which looks, however, like European specimens. More material is required to solve this question.
