ÉTYMOLOGIE. — Le nom de genre Castrea est dédié au ministre de l’Outre-mer Martinho de Mello e Castro; quant au nom d’espèce rosmarinifolia, feuillage ressemblant à celui de Rosmarinus L.

ECOLOGY. — Plant lignified, on dry and uncultivated areas. COMMON NAME. — “ Alecrim bravo ”, name used to this day.

NOTE

The sap of the plant is irritating (burns) “ succus causticus ”.
