Material examined. COLOMBIA: Atlántico • 1 worker; Juan de Acosta; 10°46′02″N, 075°02′34″W; alt. 177–250 m; Aug. 2012; D. Sernaleg.; UNAB 4762 .
Identification. Frons and vertex strongly longitudinally rugose; apex of antennal scape scarcely surpassing the posterior cephalic corner; constriction of the frontal ca- rina immediately beyond of the frontal lobes is not present; and distance between the frontal carina is half of the maximum width of the head as measured across the eyes (unpublished key by Kempf).
Distribution. Paratrachymyrmex bugnioni has been recorded from Mexico (Jalisco) and Guatemala south to Brazil (Amazonas, Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Pará, and Roraima) (Kempf 1972; Fernández and Sen- doya 2004; Achury and Suárez 2018; Souza et al. 2018).
