Remarks.

The species was first described from the Andaman Sea (Alcock 1896) and has since been reported from other parts of India, Southeast Asia, China, and Japan (Sakai 1976; Serène and Soh 1976; Tan 1996; Chen and Sun 2002; Dev Roy and Nandi 2012).
