Helicopsyche merida Botosaneanu & Flint, 1982

(Fig. 16D)

Material: 1♂, 1♀, Colombia, Bogotá, Chapinero, Quebrada La Vieja, 16.xi.2016, leg. W. Mey (MfN) ; 13♂, 2♀, same locality, 6.ii.2017, leg. W. Mey (MfN) .

Remarks. The species was determined according to the illustrations by Johanson (2002). There is a slight variation in the male genitalia, which we think is infraspecific. The species was described from the Cordillera Merida in Venezuela. This mountain range is a prolongation of the Cordillera Oriental in Colombia, where the species is probably widely distributed. The species belongs to the subgenus Feropsyche Johanson 1998, which is endemic to the Neotropic and Nearctic Regions.
