Supplementary description of male (Figs. 16, 17a–17b, 18–20). Head pale, with a pair of short brown or dark brown bands linking anterior and posterior ocelli. Pronotum rectangular; anterior corners acute, posterior corners rounded; margins and median band brown. Femora mostly pale, tibiae dark brown, tarsi brown. Wings light brown, veins dark brown. Sternum 9 moderately elongated and slightly sclerotized except an inverted, subtrapezoidal sclerotized patch linking to hammer, and a heavily sclerotized posteromedial band; hammer is large, bald and rounded in ventral view, Tergum 8 bears a small posteromedial, rounded patch of sensilla basiconica. Tergum 9 posteromedially with a big oval patch of sensilla basiconica. Hemitergal processes of tergum 10 sclerotized, basally curved inward, claviform, apex blunt and covered with tiny spines. Fully everted aedeagus (Figs. 16b–d, 17a–17b, 19c, 19d, 20) tubular, membranous, with a blunt tip; apical half of dorsal surface covered with pale, short hairs.
Female (Figs. 17c–17e,). Head pattern similar to male, but further body pattern is distinctly different. Pronotum dark brown, legs dark brown with apex of femora light brown. Wing dark brown, veins dark. Sternum 8 lightly sclerotized; posteromedial area slightly produced into an obscure subgenital plate. The female was associated through COI sequencing.
Eggs. Available females were void of eggs.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Guangxi and Hunan).
Remarks. The above males collected from Guangxi and Hunan match the original description and redescription of Claassenia magna Wu, 1948 (Du 1999; Wu 1948). The simple aedeagus, and the female of this species are described and illustrated for the first time. The female was associated with the male by molecular studies. Two males of this species from Nanling Mountains are new province records for Hunan.
