Coelioxys cherenensis, which is also recorded from Ghana, Sudan and Uganda, was described as new species twice. FRIESE (1913a) was published on 30.09.1913 and FRIESE (1913b) on 04.12.1913. EARDLEY & URBAN (2010: 255) refer to FRIESE (1913b) as original description.
