Remarks. Widely distributed in Europe, known from Spain, this is the first record from Portugal. The sisterspecies Chelifera barbarica Vaillant is known from North Africa. Both are easy to distinguish based on the shape of the cerci, and the hypandrium, particularly the shape of pro- and postgonite.
