Type data. SNELLING (1984) described this species based on four females collected in Guatemala and Mexico.The holotype was collected by the American evolutionary biologist Stevan James Arnold (1944–) in Santa Rita, Sololá Department, Guatemala on flowers of Canavalia villosa Benth.
