Centris (Melanocentris) anomala SNELLING, 1966: 31 (Junior synonym of C. aterrima Smith, 1854).

Type data. SNELLING (1966) described this species based on male and female specimens collected by the entomologist, embryologist and ethologist Francis Xavier Williams (1882‒1967) in Guadalajara, Jalisco State, Mexico. The holotype male is housed at CAS and has the following data label: MEXICO: 8 mi. S. Guadalajara, Jal. [printed] late Sept. [handwritten] 1954 F. X.
