Global distribution: NT.

Argentinian distribution: La Pampa, Neuquén, Río Negro, Santa Cruz.

Ecology: This species was recorded at altitudes from 276 to 810 m a.s.l., with wide temperature values (6.6–30 °C), in alkaline waters (pH: 8.8–9.6), and wide electrical conductivity values, ranging between 1234 and 51694 μS/cm.
