Global distribution: AT, AU, NA, NT, PA.

Argentinian distribution: Río Negro.

Ecology: This species was associated with stagnant waters, vegetated springs, seeps and ponds. It was recorded in environments at altitudes between 77 and 909 m a.s.l., with temperatures ranging from 8.4 to 15.4 ºC, with wide electrical conductivity values (430–10950 μS/cm). According to the obtained abiotic data, we can conclude that this species has shown a broad tolerance to the variations of physical and chemical variables.
