Diagnosis. Coloration [adapted from Gauld (2000)]. Yellow with black marks, few species are predominantly black. Fore wings: 3.8 to 9.7 mm. Mandibles not twisted with a conspicuous ventral edge, with upper tooth longer and wider than the lower tooth; mesoscutum with notaulus punctate with punctures concentrated on anterior and posterior parts, smooth or punctate scutellum; metapleuron smooth or stippled, pleural carina present; propodeum smooth, coriaceous, rugose or striate, with anterior and posterior carina present, usually complete; posterior femur with a ventral tooth; fore wings with or without the presence of vein 3 rs -m; metasoma ferruginous, darkened dorsally, laterotergite II without presence of thyridium; ovipositor with straight or sinuous apex (Gauld 2000).
