Odontostoechus lethostigmus (Fig. 12 A-G)

In the spermatozoon of Odontostoechus lethostigmus, the ovoid nucleus measures 1.7 µ m in the longitudinal axis and 1.1 µ m in the transverse axis. The surrounding strip of cytoplasm has no organelles (Fig. 12 A-B). Nuclear rotation toward the flagellar axis was about 60 degrees (Fig. 12 A-B). The midpiece has a conical shape, measures about 0.9 µ m in length and contains some elongated mitochondria (Fig. 12 A-C). The endomembrane system is composed of small vesicles connected to one another and to the plasma membrane, being found peripherally throughout the midpiece (Fig. 12 A-F).
