Diagnosis. Encrusting on mud-covered pebbles on intertidal mudflat, mostly buried in mud with surface fistulae rising above mud. Main body of the sponge grows by coalescence of fistulae.
Etymology. The species name derives from the intertidal habitat of the sponge.
