Eumeces afer PETERS (1854: 619)

Syntype: ZISP 687 (one specimen), “ Mozambique ”. Received from the ZMB in 1868.

Present name: Mochlus afer (Peters, 1854) fide Wagner et al. (2009).

Remarks: Additional syntypes are BM 1865.6.12.11 from " Mozambique ” (Natural History Museum, 2014); MNHN 1469 (Brygoo 1985); ZMB 1215 from “Insula Mozambique ” and ZMB 9400, 9401 (four specimens), 9402, 9403 (two specimens) from “Querimba” (Bauer et al. 2003).
