Remarks. Vlug (1995) says the type material is at the MRAC, however it is actually in the MNHN. These specimens are definitely the type material, they have labels in Risbec’s handwriting and the specimens have a broad lamina on the scape, a feature considered distinctive by Risbec. Three syntypes are dry-mounted on a microscope slide, ringed with a clear soft resin. Two are whole, and one is missing its head and has the mesosoma partly crushed. The other fifteen syntypes are dry-mounted on a microscope slide, the cover slip ringed with paraffin wax; twelve are whole, and three are more or less crushed. A specimen in the MRAC, considered by Masner (1960) to be an allotype is not part of Risbec’s type series which included only females. Mandraka is now considered a subgenus of Leptacis after Masner (1960). Leptacis (Mandraka) pauliani (Risbec, 1953) should not be confused with Leptacis pauliani Risbec, 1957 q. v. which is a Synopeas .
