Vernacular: mitaèn (Uab Meto);

Habit: ranging from a weak trailing prostrate and ascending herb, c. 50 cm long, or fairly robust herb to a small subshrub (1-2 m).

Habitat: found in a grass flat near a river on wet soil.

Distribution: from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal and India, throughout S China, Indochina, Philippines, and Indonesia to New Guinea. Not recorded from Peninsular Malaysia or Borneo.
