Habit: ranging from a weak-stemmed prostrate herb rooting at nodes or a climbing straggling herb to a robust herb or diffuse shrub (0.2- 3. 5 m).
Habitat: rice fields, between grass, banks of mountain streams, moist slopes, soil of serpentine rocks, and between chalk rocks forests.
