Material examined. None.

Geographic & bathymetric distribution. A circumtropical specie, occurring in the tropical zones of all oceans. Eastern and Western Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea; 100-2000 m (Vereshchaka 2000; Felder et al. 2009).

Remarks. Records for Venezuela: Margarita, La Tortuga and La Orchila Islands (Judkins 2014).
